You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be a frontlets between your eyes.  You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:5-9

As a church, we want to affirm parents in their role as the primary spiritual influencers of their children. Our goal is not to take on the responsibility of the parents, or to provide a substitution for their role. Our goal is to be a support to parents; to help give them the tools that they need to fulfill their God-given responsibility.

One way that we do this, is by providing weekly "at home" resources based on what we are learning at church. These resources give parents real, tangible ideas for activities and talks that they can have with their children during the week. Our hope is that this will be a real blessing to parents, and that families can talk about these things and grow together in their relationship with, and understanding of God.

The philosophy of parents partnering with the church for optimum impact on the children is often referred to as the Orange Philosphy. WHY ORANGE? Orange is made when you combine the two primary colors of yellow and red. The color yellow represents the church which is designed by God to shine a light in this dark world. The color red represents the love of the family. The idea is that when these two forces combine, they have greater influences than each of the colors can have on their own.
